Orangutangular is a an artistic and musical vehicle for David Tevlin, Ryan Vice, and Jason Howe. Hell bent on stretching the limits of creative process as well as crafting some of the most rhythmically dense material to be heard in Portland. Viewing Rythm and groove as the most universal aspect of music, Orangutangular crafts songs to break your neck and twist your ankles, drawing influence from King Crimson to Fela Kuti, from Radiohead to Hella, from Santana to Outkast. The main emphasis of Orangutangualr's music concentrates on complex song structures, convoluted grooves, pockets of high flying improvisation, and intense emotional performance.
