It all started here, the valley of dust and concrete, asphalt and firetrucks with screaming sirens and dimmed flash lights, flyings saucers and beasts. People here believed in beasts so hard they kept painting their pictures on their walls and billboards, they were so keen on worshiping them they put their pictures in the beginning of every book a kid could read and painted the same on every bus that smoked its way up and down of each street. They were the closest example any dictionary could use to describe "obsessed", and when you love something that hard, when you want it so bad, no matter how impossible it is for it to be, it comes to life. Now there's a beast behind a desk in every bank and every morning you can find a new bank with a new beast in it. Buildings get taller and streets get wider, the city expands and people populate because every morning there has to be new desks in new buildings with new beasts to sit behind them and more streets they can roam and more people to be told what not to do. The people… the people here they don't give a damn, every time a beast stands up to go home they scratch a little bit of dust off the walls and they do so to every car on the street and every tree in every park and the raincoat of every man and just a little each day ain't gonna be enough to move a nerve in the vast of these people. Hundreds of billions of nerves and not even a single pulse. Eventually its all gonna turn into a pile of dust and get washed up by the first rain cloud that would pass over.
This city is so rich in sounds of every kind that all you need to do to hear a new one is to stop breathing. Every scratch on every wall has a story to tell and all you have to do is to have the nerve to bear it, listen and it goes straight to the bottom of your heart, and down there they get heavier and Right under the skin of every citizen there is a swarm of bands with rolling drums and singers dressed like angels singing just loud enough to tickle them by the root of their hair. Put your ear against their chest and there they are, yet all you have to do is to stop breathing.
