Biography
For 70 years, the Symphony Orchestra of Ribeirão Preto (OSRP) tells a story of love and devotion to the art. Since it was founded on May 22, 1938 by German Marx Bartsch, the OSRP developed and participated in important projects that spread the classical music, reaffirming its role in highlighting the artistic sector and the municipal and national scenarios.
The credibility gained through the years justifies the fact of being the second oldest orchestra in activity in Brazil, despite being fully managed by a private entity - the Musical Association of Ribeirão Preto, which has developed partnerships with public and private initiatives . That feature attracted to the Symphony Orchestra of Ribeirão Preto, conductors recognized as Eleazar de Carvalho, Isaac Karabtchevsky, Philip Lee, Spartaco Rossi, Roberto Minczuk, Ricardo Kanji, João Carlos Martins, Gunter Neuhold, and others.
Already participated in the concert performed by soloists OSRP highlighted as Nelson Freire, Dang Thai Son, Jacques Klein, Yara Bernette, Ruggiero Ricci, Nathan Schwartzman, Antonio Meneses, Duo Assad, Ricardo Castro, Marcelo Bratke, Brazilian Trio, and Brazilian artists such as Nana Vasconcelos, Dori Caymmi, Yamandu Costa, Leo Galdeman, Ivan Lins, Toquinho.
Among the events produced by OSRP are the assemblies in the shares of La Traviatta, opera of Verdi and Cavalleria Rusticana, by Mascagni. In the moment the conductor is Claudio Cruz, winner of the "Latin Grammy" in 2002, and "Carlos Gomes Award" in 2002 and 2006.
The OSRP comes in two series of concerts scheduled: the "Concertos Internacionais" (International Concerts), which has as guest soloists of national and international reputation, and the "Juventude tem Concerto" (Youth Has Concert), a project of teaching character, aimed at the formation of public and open space for young soloists and musicians of the orchestra, both made in Theatro Pedro II.
