NOVA-SPES fount in 1999 by the germans Matthias Hübner (prod., vox), Steffen Pöhler (keys) and André Richter (keys).
Matthias and Steffen both worked in a scientific research project of the university of applied science in Köthen/germany.
In the year 2000 the band released their first CD "Opfer". In this time the music of NOVA-SPES was really dark and they are looked for an own style. So Matthias (the songwriter) tried very different musicstyles. But every time the music of NOVA-SPES was pure electronic without any acoustic instrument.
In december 2000 Matthias was keyboarder of the band AND ONE during their spain-tour. Steve was a friend of Matthias this time and a great reviewer. He had form the music of NOVA-SPES in a hard and good way. "Steve was the greatest reviewer ever. He had influenced my style and my working more than anyone of this world. I´m very sad ´bout the fact that now he is a overweening musican. Years ago he was a great personality.", Matthias about Steve Naghavi (august 2006)
In 2004 the Band was signed by the german synthiepop-label Modern Entertainment/AL!VE AG and the first release was the song "You´ve Got" on the Sampler "MODERN ENTERTAINMENT VOL. 6". Unfortunately André left the band. He wanted to start a solo carrier but no one wanted to hear his music and so he gave up making music a short time after he´d left the band.
With Peter Walter a fine new keyboarder came into the band.
After the second release on a labelsampler ("Machines Compilation Mix" on Modern Entertainment Vol.7) the label promised the release of a full time album in januar 2006. The record was ready to distribution in december 2005 but the label get financial problems and the album wasn´t released. Instead of the album the label wanted to release an EP in may 2006. Until today the EP is not released by the label although the tracks were ready in time.
Matthias is very angry about that fact and so the band parted from MODERN ENTERTAINMENT after 2 years of a very badly cooperation.
"A tip from me for all the newcomers", Matthias said at the beginning of 2006,"Don´t think about a cooperation with labels like MODERN ENTERTAINMENT. Its better working without a label and for yourselve than with a label without professionality!"
So the story goes on. Nobody knows the way but everybody knows the fact.
