Biography

Various bands have helped Nate to learn through rock n' roll. The first, at age three, with his Dad, a piano, and a Beatle's songbook. Most recently, he contributed guitar and banjo to the Crow River Band, featuring Bob Dylan's nephew from the Twin Cities of Minnesota, Luke Zimmerman. This band performed with Semisonic, The North Mississippi All-Stars, and The Mason Jennings Band. Leaving friends is hard.

Nate wandered to Bloomington to survive on the life-support from his grandparents and others. In 2005 and 2006, Nate performed around Chicago, Illinois, and release his two CD's, When Wheels Spark, and Rose Hill Jubillee, as well as the internet-only EP, Good Luck From Room 13. Today, Nate's musical journey continues through the boroughs of New York City. While he honestly hopes to share in a band someday, for now, he solely goes–to follow an irrepressible dream and sunburst guitar.

So with eyes on the sky, his ears peeled–to the ground and to the echoes of the grove–his hands folded over each other like October clouds, Nate Halvorson walks on, under owl trees, one foot in front of the other.
