Alternative Bluegrass from Melbourne, Australia - Focusing on original songwriting, three part harmonies, great pickin' & rocking the crowd
Formed in Melbourne in 2010, Mustered Courage have been steadily earning their reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative alternative bluegrass bands in the country. Their 2011 self-titled release landed them an indie deal with Laughing Outlaw Records and debuted as ‘Album of the Week’ on ABC Radio Australia and received four star reviews in the Herald Sun, The Age, and Sydney Morning Herald. Last year saw the band take out the MusicOZ Country Artist Of The Year award as well as perform at a string of major music festivals across the country including Woodford Folk Festival, Gympie Music Muster, and Tamworth Country Music Festival, with Port Fairy Folk Festival and the National Folk Festival yet to come. The new album, ‘Powerlines’, was produced by ARIA winning producer Jimi Maroudas (Kimbra, The Living End, Eskimo Joe, Pete Murray).
Mustered Courage recently won the Country Category at the 2012 Music Oz Awards and will be touring extensively in 2013 promoting their new breed of alternative bluegrass to the world.
