"May our music take you to a place that words cannot. May our rhythms sway you and overtake your senses. May the joy of the tropics soothingly invade your soul. Mulato Beat, a new bossa, a new experience." everything began when 3 "cariocas" decided to show the world the essence of the cool music made in Rio de Janeiro. The challenge was to translate the sonic elements of this mix of races, lifestyles, contrasts, texture and sensuality of this city and it`s people. The idea was born from two keys elements. First, from Marcos Portinari`s pratical experience as one of the pionners behind the brazilian scene of ambient, lounge, chill out and down tempo. Secondly from the international market`s desire to listen to seductive Brazilians rythms and sounds. Finaly the authentic cool, laid back vibe of the brazilian people can be shown to the world. Cecelo Frony and Nando Chagas, musicians much in tune with this genre as well more traditional Brazilians Influences, shared in the enthusiasm and motivation for this project.
