Biography
MooV blur all the edges of contemporary music mixing in state-of-the art visual presentations with electronics, improvisation and scored music. The line-up of the band is voice, ‘cello, bass guitar, keyboards and piano, percussion, electronics and vj. Subdued lyricism and subtle, unpredictable melodies combine with electronic tintinnabulation and spare, yet complex instrumental soundscapes.
Performances are based around a wide breadth of material ranging from intimate songs and instrumental compositions to visual and installation work. Their debut album fold has just been released on squeaky kate records and features the vocals of Norwegian singer Elisabeth Nygård.
In 2005 MooV made their debut collaborating with the internationally renowned singer Claron McFadden and theatre director Toby Wilsher presenting two large-scale theatre pieces.
Since then MooV has been developing extended compositions and songs fusing video and live vj work with sonic treatments and improvisation. Two installation works have been created in 2008. txTile was created by the Supercasio Brothers (both members of the band) and gaze : countergaze by group director Colin Riley. The ensemble has performed recently at the National Portrait Gallery, London, the Soundwaves Festival, Brighton and many other venues.
