Biography
MonkeyRocks was a hard rock / psychedelic rock band from Rīga, Latvia. Brothers Ozoli can be considered as the basis of the band. Pēteris Ozols on drums and Rūdolfs Ozols as lead guitar. Other members have frequently changed. Each one of the band members has had his own musical taste and creativity, so there has never been is a firm musical unity, but they did know how to use and combine their differences.
All of the band’s members had had previous musical experience and they had played or had been playing simultaneously in bands Mati, Lie Lie Sister, Friends_With_Benefits, Rebel Riot, and Strong Mint.
In 2011 the band announced an indefinite hiatus in order for band members to pursue other musical interests.
The last lineup consisted of :
Rūdolfs Ozols - guitar, vocals;
Didzis Upens - guitar;
Alberts Levics - bass guitar;
Pēteris Ozols - drums.
