Biography
Monica Sex (Hebrew: מוניקה סקס, also spelled Monika Sex) is an Israeli rock band that is very popular among young fans and the contemporary music scene. Their music is generally characterized by its basic sound and catchy lyrics, which led many of their songs to become radio hits and greatly recognizable in Israeli culture. They had minor success, until their song Makka Aphora (Hebrew: מכה אפורה, roughly "Grey Beating") – one of a number of songs influenced by the 1995 assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin – brought them under the spotlight after being chosen as the theme song of the Israeli cult series Florentin. The band is considered to be one of the most important Israeli rock groups. One of their most famous CD's is Kisses and Wounds (Hebrew: פצעים ונשיקות, Ptza'im veNeshikot), released in 1995.
