What is moler? It's pure garage trash oz rock hillbilly style sci-fi slice of punk 77 style pop music that makes you wanna consume that miniscule moment and drink lotsa beer Moler was born a beautiful baby, grew into a terrible teenager and now matured into a MONSTER. MOLER come complete with big fat fuzzy riffs, screeching Linda Blair vocals and chaos and hellfire in drumland.

Tune that transistor half way between radio ABBA and NAPALM DEATH and there you have moler. Up from the Underground - the story so far TheMOLER is a mysterious, light sensitive creature the MOLER's love dirt and live just beneath the surface in it1s own small world. This is the kind of creature that was coaxed out of it's hole to sign with Infectious records and release two ep's, three singles (all achieving high rotation airplay) and the highly acclaimed debut album - GOLDEN DUCK.

The band came together as a creative partnership between Helen Cattanach (Helcat) and Julien Poulson (polecat); both on the run from backwater towns in outback Victoria and Tasmania, the pair met up at film school in Melbourne. After a short stint with the infamous STIFF KITTENS; Helcat & Polecat decided to form their own band but some inexplicable twist of fate landed the duo in downtown Hong Kong where the pair spent the best part of 2 years playing punk rock in Suzie Wong style triad bars - there are no recordings from, this period.

In 1996 Helen & Julien decided to have a serious go at launching their music onto the Melbourne scene. They named themselves Snuff and recorded their debut ep with Lindsay Gravina at Birdland Studios. This self-funded effort scored them a few good gigs and some attention about town, however, a name change was required. Snuff became MOLER and was signed to Infectious for a three singles / one album deal and a released a string of catchy, buzzsaw tunes.

Embarked on some relentless thousands of Kms of National touring in their 72 chrysler Hearse, received an ARIA nomination for best rock Album, saturated JJJ and public radio and generally notorious through pranks such as evading security and hi-jacking a forklift at Melbourne's Crown Casino.

By '99 the band is also well known for the imploding drummer curse that haunts them. Experiencing terrible Spinal Tap flashbacks, Helcat & Polecat were about to hang up their guitars and make the switch to electronically when (at drummer number 13) in walked the Hedge (thus known for his incredible mop of hair) looking like something straight out of Boogie Nights. The Hedge aka Mike Glenn is firmly rooted in the 70's -a cock rock dynamo that adds CHAOS to the MOLER MAYHEM.
