Michael Fiedler, born 1978 in Löbau, works in Stuttgart as a freelance musician and producer.
Fiedler specialises in experimental electronic music and sound research. His musical spectrum ranges from soundtrack compositions for film (‘Die Tochter’, ZDF, Annagemina) to commissioned work for independent theatres, live concerts and collaborations with various artists and colleagues from a wide range of genres. These include Friedemann Vogel, first soloist of the Stuttgart Ballet, performance artist and blues musician Thomas Putze, and video artist Timo Dufner.
Under the name ANNAGEMINA, in a duo with Anna Illenberger, he has produced several groundbreaking, successful avant-garde pop albums in recent years. In his project Jah Schulz, the versatile musician passionately experiments with ‘Dub-Mixing’ - the intuitive playing with reverb and echo, a production process that was developed in the studios of Jamaica in the early 70s and also uses this across genres in his other music projects.
Fiedler uses various improvisation techniques with digital and analogue instruments and effect devices. He often incorporates so-called field recordings, which give the soundscapes a distinctive sound.
