Biography
There are at least 2 artists named "Merak":
1) Alternative rock band formed in Minsk, Belarus, in 2022. The band consists of Igor Golubovich (guitar), Alex Osipenko (drums), Andrey Prozhogo (vocals, guitar) and Denis Kruglik (bass, backing vocals).
2) Member of IO.LAB records, drumandbass.cz, AKA.IO sound system. Own production of music (beginning predominantly instrumental downtempo) goes back to the early nineties. At that time he began studying the piano and started composing on his first synthesizer Korg Poly 800. Was followed by studies at art school Vaclava Hollara, majoring in advertising graphics. In 1999 he co-founded sound system ParanojaSound, attend the first tekno festivals in CR, started with djing and liveset performance with his own music (mostly tekno, hardtekno). He also contributes to the organization partys such as livesetbattle.cz, 3teknadne, Paroubtek etc. Became a member of the prague sound system Aka.io. in 2000. In cooperation with io.sys crew published his first tekno vinyl AKA.IO 01. In 2002 he founded the label/studio io.lab records and begin training in the field of audio post production process. About three years later co-founded an underground internet radio23.cz. Since 2007, primarily has focused on drum & bass / dubstep / downtempo production and once again returning to DJing. His work has typically dark atmosphere, sophisticated composition and detailed rhythms. As a dj playing harder dance music. Actually he focuses on the creative style of mixing / remixing using digital technology. In 2008, he participated in the indie rock band Projekt Insane as keyboardist. He has played at dozens of partys, festivals, in most major clubs all over CR and abroad. Professionally also engaged in graphic design / artwork / advertising (ArtDirector at AGG adrevrtising) and sound postproduction (io.lab Records).
