Biography

Canadian born, of Dutch decent, Melanie Dekker's live shows are complete with wonder, teasing and sweating. She is a world-class strummer and has a voice like chocolate. She’s performed for President William J. Clinton, shared the stage with Diana Krall, Faith Hill & Bryan Adams, and she was up for humanitarian artist of the year and video of the year at the LA MUSIC AWARDS 2008. She delivers playful and often potent messages in her songs, which explore the ups and downs of love and energize her audiences world-wide. Her guitar accompanies her most of the time though we’ve heard some of her most precious ballads also spontaneously performed both acapella and on piano. Her vivacious character, 1000's of tour date, and moving songs set her apart from other female recording artists, though we sometimes hear that she sounds a little like Tracy Chapman, Emmylou Harris & Sheryl Crow.
