MAYRA ORCHESTRA is a brand new cinematic pop orchestra led by songwriter/singer Maartje Dekker from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Fusing diverse musical genres such as classical, pop and world music, MAYRA ORCHESTRA takes the listener on a colorful journey full of imagination.
MAYRA ORCHESTRA's World Of Wonder (CD+DVD) was released december the 7th 2013.Their debut album is an ambitious piece of work with rich, imaginative arrangements (piano, cello, violin, oboe, harp, glockenspiel, brass, choirs, synths, it's all there) which can be described as dreamy, graceful, dramatic. The CD was mastered by Grammy Award winner Darcy Proper (R.E.M, Steely Dan, Porcupine Tree, Metropole Orchestra, Kansas) in the famous Wisseloord Studios.
MAYRA ORCHESTRA's unique live show is something to be seen. There's over an hour of live music, brought to life with video projections, circus acts, dancers, costumes, self-made instruments and more. Welcome to the wondrous world of Mayra Orchestra.
