Biography
I grew up in Vancouver with 90s alt rock. Using that as a foundation, I started to slowly expand my musical tastes with instrumental pieces by Kieth Jarrett and Hans Zimmer. This was the start of my endless love affair with instrumental music. Next I jumped backward into classical masters like Beethoven and Chopin, and worked forward into jazz.
FourTet was my first real pull into electronic music. From here I think I started to really look forward to new music: Boards of Canada, God Is An Astronaut, The American Dollar, Ratatat, Tides From Nebula, Helios, Tycho. And then I started dancing, mostly to progressive dance music. This was probably the kick that started me making electronic music.
I work exclusively in Ableton.
