Masoud Shaari: was born in 1961 in Tehran (Iran), he started playing santur at the age of 13 after he turned to setar under the supervision of Dariush Talai. In 1982 he started practicing Tar with Mohammad Reza Lotfi. But his vocation for playing setar became most apparent under the teaching of Hossein Alizadeh. Shaari has performed in many concerts in Iran and abroad as a solist (Beirut, Belgium, Italy,…), as well as in the ensembles of H.Alizadeh and Shahram Naazeri.
