Biography

V.Madhusoodanan Nair, Rtd Professor and Poet, through his unique diction in Malayalam, has portrayed the mindset of a conservative individual in society, drawing inspiration from Vedas and Mythology. The deviance of an individual in society very often misinterpreted for lunacy is very effectively traced in his well-known poem 'Naranathu Bhranthan'. Cognisant of the present trends of development, the author tries to bring out the quagmire of existentialism pitted against modernism in his work 'Agasthiyahridayam', wherein Ram symbolizes the modern man and his conscience represented by Lakshman. From the mid-eighties to the nineties, he has popularized Malayalam poetry and his poetic renditions brought out as volumes of Audio books ringed in an Audio poetry culture in Malayalam. Apart from his poetic compositions, he has sung the poems of other renowned poets like Kumaran Asan, Changampuzha, Vylopilli and Vayalar. He recited the classic Harinama Keerthanam of Ezhuthachan and Janappana of Poonthanam. Altogether he has a collection of 25 volumes of Audio Poetry Cassettes to his credit. Thus his poetical work encompasses within it all the lives of the past and the present, deeply rooted in the culture of India, with an indigenous tone and colour embracing both the original Malayalee milieu and Indian psyche.
