I really didn't want to check this shØutbØx out as people love to hate on Machine Head but I am pleasantly surprised to find that I am not alone in enjoying the new album! It has some really solid, poppy tunes and a very energetic vibe. Kicks ass indeed!

Facts! One of the best Metal bands, people just love to hate on Robb and therefore the whole band gets too much shit.

It's good, but why the hell do so many Metal vocalists use some horrendous vocal effect nowadays too? Some vocal effects can work, but Robb's cleaner parts just don't sound good at all to me in these last couple albums, maybe i'll get used to it, as i like the music anyway. I have the same problem with Foregone by In Flames, but the songs are so good it doesn't matter. I'll probably just have to give these more time too.

Yeah, idk, i'd have to listen to that one again, some of the vocal effects bothered me, but maybe it'll grow on me too. It just got announced that they're coming to Finland in summer, have to get the tickets ASAP!

Yeah, they've released 2 singles so far, the first one was These Scars Won't Define Us, with Anders Friden, Cristina Scabbia and whoever of a band called Unearth, don't really know them at all. Then ofc Unbound was the 2nd single.

Burn my eyes is a fucking classic, I love every riff on this fucker, but rest of discography is hit or miss.Through the Ashes of Empires, The Blackened and Unto the Locust are just ok. Catharsis and Supercharger are the most cringest, annoying thing I ever heard in my entire life.

Godawful take. I personally never liked Burn My Eyes, the production and the mix leave a lot to be desired. The More Things Change... definitely a huge step up, criminally underrated record, while Burning Red and Supercharger haven't aged as good, they still deliver more killer than filler. Now, of all the wrong things you've said, to refer to 'Ashes' and The Blackening (not Blackened, that's a Metallica song ffs) as merely ok, is simply adding insult to injury. Everything they've made after that has been more miss than hit, but their last album definitely a solid attempt at a return to form.

Don't care about any of that, but they're better simply because they're more Thrashy. I like both tho.

The deep purple album is probably the best of the bunch. I was actually playing this said game earlier.

I can't really choose between the band and the Purple album personally. Hard to compare for me, very different styles but both very good at what they are IMO. I know the band gets a lot of shit but i like most of their work.

Nah, The Blackening is a great album and nowhere near step back, because it's the best band's output. But, unfortunately, albums like Catharsis really could be named "teen mallcore".

I honestly think the blackening is a great album. I think it was after unto the locust the band just started spitting out very generic albums/songs, which kinda killed my love for them. Still, excited to see them live next week, curious to see how much they have changed live. Probably not much, judging by their discography trend. 😅

There simply weren’t enough of them for two more or less good albums. Besides, Rob Flynn is a mediocre musician, trying to make music according to fashionable cliches.

I liked their first two albums when I was a kid, but when they released the album with Robb rapping, I stopped listening to them. Since then I have tried to get into their later albums, but it just didn't click with me. They seem like their albums follow whatever trend is popular at the time.

The Blackening 2006, Unto The Locust (2011) and Bloodstone & Diamonds (2014) deserve a check. Some people say the latest album ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN (2022) is good as well. I'm just starting listening to it.

It's not "back to the roots" compared to Burn My Eyes era but yeah, definitely a jump back to their quality times.

Никогда особо не нравились, жиденький звук, практическое отсутствие напора и каких либо качевых моментов. Дебютник еще куда ни шло, но по сумме недоделанное творчество, от альбома к альбому будто не доведено до ума.

Of Kingdom and Crown is imo their best album since The Blackening. I enjoy it from start to finish, Blackening was the last one to achieve that. I'm a sucker for some brain-melting guitar solos and this album has a lot of them, drumming is also sick throughout. "Become the Firestorm" has to be the stand out song for me, you could stick it in The Blackening and it wouldn't feel out of place at all. All in all an instant classic album for me.

So who's doing the majority of the singing on the new album? It doesn't sound much like Jared, unless his voice has completely shifted from how he sounded in Sanctity.
