Biography
For Mac Peelo, music runs in the family. The Milwaukee-born, Atlanta-bred rapper says
it was his aunt who first inspired him to make music. “My aunt was part of Thugline
Records, which was the label founded by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony,” he said. “I would go
to the studio and see her writing music. Thatʼs when I felt like that was something that I
wanted to do myself. That really became my dream.”
And Mac made good on his dream. Now signed to Atlanta-based KV Entertainment,
heʼs preparing for the release of his debut single, “Dude, Where is My Car?,” from the
forthcoming mixtape “Canʼt Lose.”
Mac Peelo, who says friends gave him his moniker because of his penchant for Ralph
Laurenʼs Polo line, describes his sound as “fun” and “uptempo.” “My music can make
you feel good and make you dance but it also has substance. I talk about real issues
that people can really relate to.”
Produced by Macʼs go-to producers William McFlyer and Joey Pluto, “Dude, Where Is
My Car?” is a clever, high energy record that will make listeners laugh and bob their
heads simultaneously. Says Mac, “This is a fun song. Itʼs fun to listen to, fun to party to,
fun to perform. It tells a story and lyrically, itʼs so visual that you can almost see if
playing out right before your eyes.”
It is one of many hit-bound songs on “Canʼt Lose.” “I really tried to give my fans an
album full of hits,” says Mac, “not just one or two. My favorite on the mix tape is my
follow-up single — a song called ʻParty Like P. Diddy.ʼ When we drop this record, itʼs
gonna be crazy!” Also featured on “Canʼt Lose” are some of Macʼs hip hop colleagues:
Roscoe Dash, Travis Porter, Gloss the Boss, Teck Teezy, Iceman and Chazy Rackz.
Counting hip hop legends like UGK, Outkast and Jay-Z among his influences, Mac
Peelo says he enjoys creating songs that tell stories. “My music is a reflection of my life
experiences; all the ups and downs that have happened in my life. Itʼs a reflection of
how I see things and the people who are around me. I think my music is just a reflection
of me, my friends and all the people in my life. Thatʼs why other people like it too –
because they can see themselves and their friends in it.”
Mac Peelo says he looks forward to telling more stories and making more music in the
years to come. “I want to be legendary,” he says, “and I canʼt wait to introduce the world
to my passion, ambition and my creativity.”
