Biography

Mélusine refers to two different artists:

1. Mélusine: a French folk group.

2. Mélusine: A Japanese visual kei band.

1. Mélusine was a French folk band that was founded in 1972. The repertoire of songs and tunes Melusine mixes pieces collected from traditional musicians in some works of the Middle Ages. The group has also composed some songs for a musical interest real lap times slightly “gaguesque.” The interpretation and arrangements, although very free, stand close to the tradition, not the letter but in the spirit (unlike their main “competitor” Malice).

2. Mélusine was a visual kei band that formed in 1999. It was only active for a few years, but managed to maintain a slight cult following in the Japanese underground music scene for their melodic gothic post-punk style. It split by 2001, and everyone (except guitarist Ciera, 死餌羅) joined at least one other visual band after Mélusine's split.
