Biography
There's more than one musical project with the name Lucerne:
1. Lucerne is a project formed in Westchester, New York by keyboardist Christian Longoria and Guitarist Seby Martinez in 2016. It first started as pure electronic music but soon the compositions began to expand and incorporate Jazz, Prog Rock, and Post-Hardcore as well. With the help of various friends and fellow musician's that contributed, "Vega", the band's debut EP was released in the spring of 2017, which contained 7 songs that explore themes of dystopia, fear, love, addiction, dreams, and nature. Christian's melodic jazz keyboard playing and Seby's technical guitar and bass lines come together to create a unique sound of their own that may be reminiscent of artists like The Mars Volta, BadBadNotGood, Boards of Canada, Nujabes, and Thundercat. Both members handle vocal duties, oftentimes incorporating captivating harmonies into the songs that have vocals, which are only half of them. The band is currently writing for a full-length album and looking for more permanent members in hopes to tour in the near future.
2. Lucerne is a melodic death metal from Finland. Lyrical themes consists of words created by FromSoftware (Elden Ring, Dark Souls).
