Biography
The Name:
The name Labster, came from the song of the B 52s “Rock Lobster”; Rock in the Laboratory. You take some rock/alternative music, you pass it through various stages of electronical testings and experimentations and you take a unique result. This was the idea at first. After a time and with the “intrusion” of other music styles, Labster became a project with various influences and so, the name was finally given, as it is.
The Story:
It started in 1997 just for the experience. In 2000/2001 the first “real” tracks were produced, based on the idea of the Rock Laboratory. In 2002/2003 there was a pause but luckily, Community (the 1st neworderonline.com tribute CD to New Order) gave us a push, to start again, with a cover of the song “Face Up”. From that time on, we compose/produced several original songs. In 2006 neworderonline.com Community 2 gave us the oportunity to make two new covers of New Order’s “Your Silent Face” and “Behind Closed Doors” (to be continued…).
