I knew straight away from that tape-distorted dungeon synth intro that I was gonna enjoy this and I wasn't wrong. Sunken Crucible is so good, some fantastic textures at work here, properly nasty and atmospheric.

  Fuck I really can’t get enough of this, it’s one of the best things I’ve heard all year. Reminds me of the first time I heard “Yeti” by Amon Düül II, similar vibes of being a weird psychedelic journey into the dark chasms of the soul.

    It is a really fantastic output isn't it? Everything right down to the art which is the first thing that grabbed my attention, I knew it would be the type of album that would melt someone's ego, 'a bigger than you type of album' if you will. I always imagine myself getting sucked into that otherworldly anomaly on the front cover while listening to this.

    Yes! The cover art was what caught my eye first when browsing 2021 metal releases on RYM. It suits the sound perfectly - cavernous, nebulous, weird, hard to identify the exact size and shape of it but totally captivating all the same. I was chatting to them on Instagram a little and they're super nice, they even reposted the review I wrote of the album on their page. One of my AOTYs for sure.
