From the depths of a resurgence in the South Philadelphia socio-economic struggle, Le Yikes Surf Club blast off the sewer caps covered in ooze with clouds of green smoke trailing their path, like a teenage gang of mutant reptiles. With multi-colored proverbial masks over their faces, club members choose to return to their secret hideouts underground, below the watchful eye of competitive gangs of cutthroats looting and stealing while wearing smiling masks of their own.
After years of Dirty Tactics, and a brief legal battle with the Philadelphia Parking Authority, The Yikes Kamikaze Klan was born under the roof of one of South Philadelphia's most notorious hideouts, The Titan Haus. With the first mission statement in the form of a bilingual, organ-based, pop manifesto, years had passed before the YIKES flag was raised at dawn yet again.
Upon their first public appearance, Le Yikes Surf Club established partnership with Grizzly Records, in order to help spread the message of the group. Harnessing tones ranging from subtle and welcoming grooves, to rowdy and abrasive, new western, toe-tappers, The Yikes Motorcycle Mafia incorporates iconic traditions into a new mold that will leave the listener caught in the confusion of a timeless, yet refreshing sound, that has become rare in this new world of 21st century apocalypse.
With club meetings now being arranged regionally and nationally, new chapters of Le Yikes Surf Club are popping up in cities abroad. Membership cards are currently being massed produced for distribution amongst new club members. Beware! 2012 will be the year of thee yikes.
