Teaming up with fellow Chicago native Rooga, Brooklyn rapper Fivio Foreign, and Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty, the quartet reflects on how they have personally felt betrayed and/or demonized by the media and the music industry, as well as how they all have to deal with people that are simply around to take advantage of their situations.
The song, which marks the first officially released collaboration between Yachty and Kanye, despite the pair having recorded music together in 2016 during the sessions for Kanye’s scrapped album TurboGrafx16, was debuted during the second listening event for Kanye’s tenth studio album, "Donda", which happened on August 5, 2021, and was held at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Yachty’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.
Notably, Rooga worked extensively with Kanye during the recording process of "Donda", with a reference track by Rooga for Kanye’s song “Jesus Lord,” which was played at the second listening event for the album, and was leaked in early 2021.
“Ok Ok” debuted at #12 on the Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Songs Chart during the week ending September 2, 2021.
