This is Providence, Rhode Island via an 8-bit DAC – the one inside Brendan Bell's original grey Gameboy, hijacked with a boxcutter and a rare Nanoloop 1.2 cartridge, forced to spit out a symphony of glitchy pop/rock/mayhem, and finally enriched with crunchy guitar and Elliot-Smithian, chest-woundian harmonies. Don't listen once; don't listen twice; listen 5 times and you'll start to uncover the gorgeous songwriting within this intensely textured snapshot of the weirdest, dirtiest, realest small city-state in the US.
