Biography
Joanne Pollock has been performing her unique brand of future-pop for four years. In that time she has released two EPs, one album with her band Poemss (featuring Venetian Snares) and one critically acclaimed solo album, Stranger (Timesig/Planet Mu). Stranger received a 9/10 rating from Exclaim! who commented, “Pollock never shies away from the unconventional. Yet, there’s enough warmth, folk, pop and soul here to satisfy listeners of virtually any stripe.” In April 2018, a remix she did for Zola Jesus was released as part of Okovi: Additions on Sacred Bones.
She has traveled extensively throughout Canada and Europe, performing with Poemss and as a solo artist, currently opening for Venetian Snares and Daniel Lanois on their worldwide 2018 tour dates. Originally from Toronto, Winnipeg is currently where she calls home.
