JazzChronic from the musical hotbed of Athens, GA plays original rock-funk injected jazz music that is reminiscent of funk organ and horn led bands of the late 70’s. JazzChronic creates high-energy music that is innovative and stimulating. Every member in this dynamic group works together as a team in composing original music that jams from funk, rock n' roll, jazz, soul, r&b and world music. JazzChronic has performed since 2004 and has had its current lineup that has solidified the JazzChronic sound since 2008. JazzChronic is bringing a powerful musical experience for music fans everywhere.

Bill Baker - bass (born in Madison, GA, spent summers in West Virginia, Attended the University of Georgia, graudated from the Atlanta Insitiute of Music, Atlanta, GA)
Gnarly G - tenor, baritone and soprano saxophones, flute and vocals (born in Fredericksburg, VA, grew up in Roanoke, VA, gradauted from Radford University, Radford, VA)
Howard B. Stroud - keyboard/organ (born in Athens, GA, grew up in Athens, GA, graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens)

Justin Willis is intuitive, spontaneous and a talented songwriter. Justin has grown into a guitar monster who creates new grooves, songs and ideas. Justin provides lead, background vocals for the band and has booked many great gigs for JazzChronic. Justin is a graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Music. (Atlanta, GA)

Bill Baker is creative, has excellent bass skills, is all about the groove and bringing the funk. Bill has intriguing musical ideas and has become a great songwriting partner with Justin Willis, our guitarist. Bill is a recent graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Music, (Atlanta, GA) and practices various styles of music constantly.

Gnarly G is a saxophonist, vocalist, rapper and flautist who performs with power, confidence, creativity and soul. G has great charisma and humor, which serves him well as the front man for JazzChronic. G got his stage name from one of his brothers, who stated that he was the bastard cousin of Kenny G. G is the hardest working man in Athens, GA show business, performing not only with the Chronic, but working with the Half Dozen Brass Band, The Dark Side of the Dead, and other projects.

Howard B. Stroud is a keyboardist who plays funk/jazz styled chords and solos with his right and left hands. Howard uses many sounds to create his own style of keyboard musicianship. Howard expects perfection and constantly strives for excellence. Howard is a great team player and promotes all things JazzChronic.

We are influenced by artists such as Jaco Pastorius, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Soulive, The New Mastersounds, The Sound Stylistics, Rudder, DJ Logic, The Motet, Jimmy Herring, Jimi Hendrix, The Funky Meters, Frank Zappa, The Big Organ Trio, Jeff Coffin, Bob Marley, Stevie Ray Vaughn, George Clinton and P-Funk, Stevie Wonder, Morphine, Victor Wooten, John Scofield, Steely Dan, Ulu, Umphrey's McGee, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Allman Brothers, The Greyboy All Stars, A.K.A.C.O.D., The Dead Kenny G's, Charlie Hunter, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many others who continue to constantly create, inspire and motivate!

JazzChronic is going to a 'Hole 'Nother Level in creating, performing and pimpin' the grooves. JazzChronic is all about fusing all generes of music into grooves that you can use. This dynamic group works together as a team in composing original music that is funk, rock n' roll, jazz, acid jazz, blues, world music, and R&B.
