In this song, the singer speaks to someone. The listener first think that the other person is a girl with who the singer had a love affair. But after a moment listening to the lyrics, the listener realize that the other person is not a human being: the singer is speaking to money. The listener can realize that because of the well-known expressions used, such as "le temps c'est du toi" (time is you), "toi qui n'a pas d'odeur" (you that have no smell), "tu ne fais pas le bonheur" (you can't buy happiness), etc.
Thus, the whole song is a metaphor, with plenty of play-on-words (this is indeed the writing-style of the band).
