Biography
Born and raised in Newcastle, DJ Ntaprize established his career early on as a DJ for local hip-hop artists like Urban Free Flow, Prem Bedlam, Kaye One and Sydney’s Black Magic. After gaining word-of-mouth exposure, he was soon called upon by Smiles from Mind Over Matter to audition as the new DJ for their band. Within 15 minutes he was chosen; two days later he was finishing the length of their Australia tour in Perth. He has since supported Australian acts such as 360, Pez and Illy, as well as international acts Cyprus Hill, Tech9 and Bone Thugz.
Jae Moon is a young producer from Inner-West Sydney. He has earned an underground following producing beats for up-and-comers in the likes of Stories for Nothing, Casa and Billy Green, as well as having supported numerous Australian hip-hop artists like Chance Waters, Horrorshow and Mind Over Matter.
DJ Ntaprize and Jae Moon have now teamed up under the name ‘James vs Dean’. Their debut EP, “James vs Dean: Volume 1” will be launched late-2014.
