Biography
Initialization String started in September of 97 when Aaron Anthony and Josh Meredith got together to write their own style of electronic music. They both had a vision in their minds of blending multiple styles of electronic music in a way that has never been tried before. After a couple of years of working in the studio, the album "Glitzed" was produced and their vision was realized. This album reflected a diversity of style from d&b to trance to ambient music. After "Glitzed", Init-string took on a new direction which many people catagorize as Psy-trance. Creating psychedelic soundscapes and having the ability to make a crowd move became their number one priority.
In 1999, Init-string helped to start the first live P.A. collective in Texas, known as the AI Collective. Soon a new member, Mike Hale, joined the band, bringing his styles, ideas, and excellent hand-druming skills into the mix. Electronic music will never be the same.
In 2001, Init-string released their latest full length album, "Feedback loops". This album is full-on trance: very upbeat and DJ friendly. Soon after that, their first vinyl EP was released, consisting of the song "Gelflings Wonderland" and "Dig".
Recently, Init-string has started a new era in their live performances, adding live synched-up video that responds to the music which creates a true multimedia enviroment that brings a theatrical-visual element to electronic music that has never seen before. Their objective is now to eleminate the bariers between the senses. Audiences are blown away by this seamless mix of video and audio. Init String has started to incorporate more interactivity between audience and performers. Imagine the crowd being able to control different aspects of the music and video by dance, position, weight, etc… They have been experimenting with new technologies and are inventing their own just for this purpose. This will make an event more like a living organism - always evolving and morphing according to the crowd's response to the music. Thus the start of Digital Orgasm Theatre their performance art and interactive multimedia environment team taking interactive media, art and performance to a new level. Init String can be seen at raves, clubs, and music festivals, and is internationally known by their label, Subtle Distortion Records. They have also liscensed tracks to international record labels.
