Indira May's captivating blend of genres, which draws inspiration from a wide variety of musical legends, including Billie Holiday, Joni Mitchell, Radiohead, Sampha, Ravyn Lenae, and many more, has garnered attention and made her ‘one to watch’ in 2023. Her debut solo release in 2021, ‘Simpler Things’, was a snapshot of her distinctive creative outlook, effortlessly painting a picture of how it feels to be a young woman navigating today’s world.
Indira also created and released music videos and animation to accompany this project through TRASH, a production company and independent music platform which she co-founded. Her work in both music and film has attracted attention from Link Up TV, Girls In Film, She Said So and Polyesterzine, earned her plays on BBC Radio One and Kiss FM, along with multiple features on Apple Music and Spotify playlists like the popular ‘New Music Friday’.
Her love of electronic music has led to successful collaborations with Jaded, one of the UK’s hottest electronic dance groups, and also underground garage producer, Skelecta. Their new track ‘Dreaming’ was picked up by Jaguar on BBC Radio 1, and ‘Up and Go’ by the legendary DJ EZ.
‘Disconnected’ is her next collaborative project with the talented artist and producer Saffron, featuring Franky Bones. Not to mention multiple dance releases, including a feature on Jaded's exclusive single 'Mirror' released on Diplo’s label ‘Higher Ground’.
