2000 – present (25 years)
Formed in June 2000 after a number of other musical ventures, idyl is the musical output of a singular person. Soon after it's creation, a 4 song 3" demo cd was released on Frozen Empire Media, entitled kef. A few months time led to another release on the same label, this time an EP consisting of seven new tracks, entitled halcyon. At this time was also the first live performance at the Pyramid club in New York City, as part of the Frozen Empire Media showcase. Within the first six months of it's existence, idyl was also featured on it's first compilation appearance, Schematics for Power, Vol. 1 on NCC Records.
During the next year, new material was recorded, and featured on two separate compilations, Colliding Frequencies by Frozen Empire Media, and Krach Test by Ad Noiseam. Idyl performed live again in Connecticut for the Frozen Empire Media showcase II.
The following year featured idyl on another compilation, Colliding Frequencies 2 by Frozen Empire Media, as well as another 3" cd release, entitled The First Cause, which featured 6 new seemless audio tracks, and a remix by Tarmvred.
In 2003, idyl was featured on yet another comilation, Don't Touch My Car!, by Mile 329. A very limited EP promo was given out that summer to promote idyl during the Providence Industrial Fest.
The next year idyl actually performed at the Providence Industrial Fest in August. Later that year a boxset was released independently, entitled .22.
In 2005, idyl once again performed at the Providence Fest in August. In addition to this, work is being completed towards a full length release.
