Idea of Beauty are a five-piece post-hardcore/metalcore/rock band who combine beautifully ethereal instrumental melodies with brutally driving breakdowns, urgent and introspective lyrics, and an explosive stage presence. You might compare Idea of Beauty to The Bled, Hopesfall, or Year of the Rabbit; maybe a metalcore version of Coldplay or a harder-hitting Moneen. However, Idea of Beauty is deeper than any comparison. Their song writing has the ability to bridge any gaps that may exist between fans of metal, pop, metalcore, hardcore, indie-rock, and ambient music.
In April of 2004 Idea of Beauty entered the studio with acclaimed producer Eddie Wohl (Anthrax, 36 Crazyfists, Glassjaw, Ill Nino, Dry Kill Logic, etc) and Mitchell Marlow (Classic Case) and crafted 11 tracks into their anticipated debut album Dark. With Dark Idea of Beauty has created a stunningly diverse album that showcases both extreme musical foresight and a maturity that is almost uncanny for a group of friends who only began to write songs together in 2002.
