Hugh III of Oisy ( 1145 - 1189 ), Lord of Oisy and Crèvecœur, Lord of Cambrai, Viscount of Meaux.

Hugues III d'Oisy was the son of Simon d'Oisy ( 1115 - 1171 ) and Ade de Vermandois. In 1170, He inherited all the titles and property of his father, He married Gertrude de Flandres-Lorraine in 1163, repudiated by Count Humbert III de Maurienne. In 1183 , he remarried with Marguerite de Blois , countess of Dunois (1170-1231), daughter of Thibaut V de Blois of the Champagne dynasty and Alix of France of the Capetian dynasty.

He died on August 29, 1189 and was buried in the priory of Reuil . He had no descendants and abandoned his stronghold in the house of Montmirail through his sister Hildiarde d'Oisy.

Considered one of the first poets of the Middle Ages, his disciple was Quènes (or Conon) de Béthune .

He occupied himself with rhyming songs in which one notices a boldness and a satirical biting which denote all the confidence that wealth and power could give at the time.
