Biography
The story behind the Montreal-based electropop duo begins with a pair of highschool sweethearts and spans a decade of couplehood, musical projects and everything in between. With the release of their debut full-length Goodbye Friend, Welcome Lover (2005) on Noise Factory Records, Edmund and Heidi have crafted their best, most focused work to date in the form of infectious pop compositions driven by the interplay of charming, glitchy electronics with engaging, sharp melodies. Their dynamic and energetic live show has earned them invitations to CMJ, Pop Montreal, Canadian Music Week, North By North East, Ladyfest, Halifax Pop Explosion and the CBC radio 3 national tour, sharing stages with indie legends like Mates of State, Ivy, Chixdiggit, Japanther, as well as the cream of indie crop (We Are Wolves, Thunderbirds Are Now!, Pony Up!). Hexes & Ohs' debut album has been topping the campus radio charts, reaching the #2 position nationally and remaining in the top 10 for several months. The album's single "Whadaya Know?" also made CBC radio 3's list of top 50 singles of 2005.
