There are more than one artist with this name:
1)GOOM is a powertrio with members from ZEUS and Astrosoniq.
With their thick guitar riffs, grooving bass lines, pounding drums and raw vocals, GOOM sounds overwhelmingly heavy. But listened to more closely, their music also reveals subtlety and layering, without making any compromise to accessibility and groove: Alice in Chains meets Black Sabbath with a touch of King’s X.
During their original band’s time-out, Zeus members Roy Jansen and Paul Jansen (not related) decided to form a powertrio. They immediately knew who would be the perfect third man for this band. Impressed by his vocal and bass playing qualities in Astrosoniq, they asked Erik de Vocht to join. After a few hours in a rehearsal room, GOOM was born.
2)Goom were an eclectic rock outfit based in Dundee Scotland formed in 2006 by five individuals with very different styles and even more varied tastes.
Driven by a mutual love of all things heavy and the call of the stage, Goom have shared a bill with the likes of Dana Walker, Witchblade, Dorp?, Sarah Coloso, Team:Frances, The Red Shift, The Inside Story, Cascade Palace, Black Wild, Ildessyen Call, Jeremiah, Lions Chase Tigers, Nixa and 3TimesOver amongst others..
After some line-up changes and a slight variation in direction, Goom have been on indefinite hiatus since 2012.
