God Made Me Funky (GMMF) is the Funky live ensemble, out of Toronto, comprised of a diverse array of musicians ranging from classically trained Jazz artists to street schooled Hip-Hop & R&B vocalists, all of which share the bond of moving crowds and bringing the Nu-Funk in to the next level.
Consisting of Vocalists - Kaybe & Melissa O'Neil, Rapper – PHATT al, Keys – Sean Nimmons, Bass - Cam Dougall, Guitar – Rich Grossman, Trumpet's - Mark Jarvis & Benji Perosin, Sax - Arthur Kerekes, & Drums - Alan Witz; GMMF has been widely recognized in the Toronto music scene for its highly energetic and outstanding Nu Funk blow out party's. GMMF has been doing it since 1996. Now, after sharing the stage with such notable artists as Julie McKnight, & Divine Brown; And having played at NXNE, CMW, COCA, and club gigs road testing the new original material to great response, GMMF has taken it to the studio. Their 2005 self-titled debut disc brought the pure musical energy of a live GMMF stage show combined with the superbly funky song writing of the band and lays down original recordings in the new grand tradition of the Nu-Funk Movement they created. Now the band does it bigger and better with the release of their latest album: 'We Can All Be Free'. Featuring production from Nigel Williams (of The Pocket Dwellers); And with guest spots from Michie Mee, Meastro, and Thrust. The first single 'Won More Time' f. Thrust, is currently being serviced to radio nation wide.
