Gifter brings a contemporary mix of different musical styles with an overall sound which is comparable to bands like Kings of Leon; while playing rocking riffs in the likes of Oceansize but also being able to spread dreaminess as once Pink Floyd brought into the world. Best described as poppy post-rock with plenty of room for subtlety and psychedelics.
In April 2013 Gifter released a debut album in which they explored various layers of the musical spectrum where the wayward sound of the band came into its own. As the leading Dutch reviewers of MusicfromNL described their album: ‘There’s plenty of beauty to be discovered. Each song is like a gift for your ears, because you don’t know what to expect when you start opening that present, let alone when you hear those first notes on each song ‘.
