There is more than one artist with this name:
1) Generic were a British hardcore anarcho punk band who played melodic style of hardcore punk utilizing a wide aspect of influences and musical styles from grindcore similar passages to informative sections to plain hardcore punk.
Being a band of conviction, their lyrics deal with everything from the apartheid regime in South Africa to coca cola's destruction of workers rights in south america to apathy and lack of interest among punks and people in general.
Bands that can be associated, as per musical and rhethorical similarity is Active Minds, Electro Hippies, Satanic Malfunctions and Ripcord to some extent.
2) Generic is a dark ambient project by Adam Sykes. His site can bet found here and his myspace profile here.
3) Generic was a manele band from Romania.
4) Generic was a hardcore/punk band from Honolulu, HI. Their first release, "Hawaiian Assault," contained 8 songs which would later be featured on their first and only full-length, "Victim of Society."
4) Generic was an NES cover band composed of a few members of The Advantage before they became The Advantage.
