Biography

GBB started to play in March 1990. Band was founded by a group of punks and herbert’s living in Novi Sad, AP Vojvodina, R. Serbia. Being quite young (on average 16 years old) and having some previous music experience (Swankers, Auslander…), GBB started to create it's own music style. Already, after 2 months of practicing and a set of 7 songs, GBB played the first gig in Novi Sad. Afterwards GBB recorded First demo, which was followed by few more gigs in Novi Sad. In September 1990, GBB have recorded Second demo. In meantime, beside practicing and playing, some of GBB members have been involved in local-international Fanzine scene, as well as in Music production.
In 1991 GBB self financed first single "You must listen to me!". They managed to record a video (song "Pad/Fall") on Belgrade and Novi Sad TV stations. A video was a quite "useful tool" and it enabled band to organize gigs around Vojvodina / Serbia.
In January 1992 GBB self financed recording of first LP – Vol. 1. A small punk rock revolution positioned GBB as a Bend of Generation growing up during nineties! Afterwards, they recorded two new videos. Playing gigs, selling LP's (afterwards cassettes), playing videos on TV…at once it put GBB on the list of the most successful "young" bands in Yugoslavia. Even several rewards (Greatest Hope; Debut LP, Best single) have been awarded to the band.
Because of the wars in ex-YU countries GBB never got a chance to present it's work in Slovenia, Croatia and BH. Also, GBB couldn't obtain visas to play planned gigs in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France.
Limited edition of VOL. 1 LP's was sold out very fast. Many of the copies were sold out in Western European countries. Even a set of LP's was sold in USA. Locally, GBB found a Music house willing to "print" VOL.1 on cassettes. Amazingly, in the period of 2 years, 7000 cassettes have been sold?
A yearly break happened, as 2 members have chosen to do military service. Others, have chosen to role play madness!
GBB continued to play in years after, but also original band members started to leave. That caused some difficulties for band, as they started to look for a new drummer, guitarist…Also, GBB have been challenged with some new influences, which took the band a little bit out from punk rock roots and brought GBB to more progressive r'n'r. The whole environment, personal changes led band to record CD – Spleen. GBB had enough enthusiasm to keep on playin', but unfortunately it couldn't last for a long…
In February 1999 GBB stop playing.
Years passed, since punks and herbert’s gathered together in "original shape" to play 3 farewell gigs in Novi Sad. That was in autumn 2001.
Than, nothing was happening with GBB, since May 2006, when 3 original members met in local Café for some befriending, alcohol…An ordinary evening in local Café, became a crucial moment. By the end they got so drunk and the atmosphere in the Cafe became so friendly that everyone enjoyed listening some old punk rock bullshit…Day after and with great headaches band was (re) formed. Six members, out of that 2 from original line up, started to practice for the gig which have been scheduled for 26 May 2006 in Novi Sad…
In last 3 years GBB played several Festivals and few gigs.
Nowadays GBB is making songs for a new album to be realized in 2010.
GBB is a mash of punk, punk-rock, new wave and garage rock. Loads of musicians and bands had an impact on each of GBB member. GBB are quite unique, authentic! And loads of friends, not good friends and journalist would say the same!
