‘Exploding House’ is a personal exploration of the narrator’s relation to home as they are faced with leaving it.
In an interview with Jehnny Beth on Echoes, Cameron Winter stated that the lyrics to ‘Exploding House’ were born out of an experience he had whilst clearing out certain belongings in preparation of leaving home.
He describes himself flippantly throwing away sentimental old trinkets and the poignant feeling of melancholy that followed when he realised what he had done.
