Biography
Illinois Fiddler and Tune Collector
A major contributor to the collection of American fiddle tunes was Garry Harrison, who recording and notating fiddlers of southern Illinois. He compiled an enormous resource called Dear Old Illinois (click link to view book) with hundreds of tunes still in use today. He was sadly missed when he died unexpectedly at age 58 in 2012. Garry also wrote some original tunes and put out a CD called Red Prairie Dawn with several of them. These tunes will be indicated with Garry's name in the jukebox below. The rest of the tunes are ones he recorded and notated.
