there are times when it’s quite nice not to know what someone’s going on about. in full english breakfast’s world this is standard procedure. the meaningless becomes memorable. bizarre couplets morph into genuine pop moments. you start to smile. this carries on.
full english breakfast is essentially one-man musical maverick alvine spetz. spetz discovered music while studying at aberdeen university in the 80s. inspired by the fledgling indie sounds of edwyn collins, the fall, josef k and the pop group, he embarked on a journey that almost no press agents at all would have trouble making up - including exagerated stories of recording with members of the shamen, trashing everything he’s ever recorded and playing one gig. ever. in belgium.
finally there is an album at the end of it all ,the eponymously named 'FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST, made with a helping hand from spork drummer ed lush and featuring eleven songs that bring to mind babybird, jazz butcher and the fall.
