the point was that whether or not Marilyn Manson was around, this would have been influencing him, not this sounding like him. in any case, the liner notes on this album says the influences, Pantera, Metallica, Killing Joke. Fear Factory I believe is also listed, as well as a few other groups. so, yeah, you're going to hear these things on this album. doesn't take away from how awesome this album is and how underated it was, most people only giving it 2.5/5

First sample is Metallica - Don't tread on me. Second is Pantera - Walk, although this might be a manipulation of something else to emulate the Pantera riff, which would be easy enough, given how simple the riff is. Doesn't quite sound like Dimebags tone. Marilyn Manson was active as a band when this was released.

"Manson"!? Manson hasn't even got formed a proper Band when this came out... and well, yes, this is actually the riff from Pantera's "Walk", but it sounds way better in this song anyway...
