Dutch political screamo band from Utrecht, The Netherlands with members from StoorZender and Dodewaard.
At the end of 1998 we started Foreclosure. We are Vincent (drums), Paul (vocals), Mathijs (guitar) and Tobie (bass). We had played together in an other band before this one but this time it had to be harder then the other band StoorZender.
We recorded a demo tape called “Foregiveness Denied” in February of 1999. In September of that year we got a big change in the band. Rutger came to play bass, Tobie got to play guitar, Vincent left and Mathijs got behind the drums. This was not the ideal situation, but it was the only way we could go on.
In August of 2000 we found a new drummer in Maarten. He hadn’t been playing for long, but he was very motivated to learn and he learned quick. In October 2000 we recorded a D.I.Y. split 7 inch with friends of us who are in the band Set Aside. This 7” had the title “Unfolding Yourself…”
After the release of the single we got some good reviews, played some cool shows in Holland (of course), but also in France and Spain (summer of 2001). We played with bands like; Mihoen, Bane, Zegota, Remains of the Day, Skulls and Flames, Set Aside, Catharsis and many more.
Maarten decided to call it quits. We almost decided to split up, but we are glad we didn’t cause we found a new drummer very quickly. His name is Jorick, a very fanatic drummer and a great person from Arnhem(also in Soul Emigre). With him behind the drum kit we are going to record a split seven inch with Curse Of Instinct in February 2002 and we are trying to put up a tour in april/may which brings us, hopefully, through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, France, Belgium and maybe more.
Rutger later played in Dodewaard.
