Biography
Though the modern world seems to be extremely liberal, it is difficult for the new generation to find their own identity and the means by which they can express themselves naturally, free from the everyday stressful world. That's why there are only few bands that consist of young people who play authentic music. The Fondor band is unique in this aspect. Authentic village music is our common heritage, we love and play this kind of music and want to call the attention of the modern people to this kind of music as well as to preserve and keep a living memory of it. The most important thing is that we enjoy playing authentic folk music, everything else evolves from this fact.
The Fondor band is relatively new, we have been playing together for about two years, but we cannot give an exact date for our formation, but the band members (Kinga Krámli - singer, Klára Csernók - violin, Andor Maruzsenszki - violin, Zoltán Bobár - viola, accordeon, - Endre Papp - viola, István Prihoda - double bass) have all gained the necessary knowledge and experience before to be able to play successfully in a band. Our repertoire is wide, containing the whole width of the music of the Carpathian Basin, for example the music of Kalotaszeg, Szilágyság and Szatmár, just to name a few of our favourite regions.
