fell in love with this song last summer but have hardly been able to listen to it since it's so devastating

Such an emotionally stirring song, kind of gives me a tender Springsteen vibe. Stevie was really showing her development as a songwriter and an artist on the Tusk album. She wrote some powerhouses for that album, this, Sara, Sisters of the Moon, Beautiful Child, Angel, all excellent tracks!

Brutally sincere and vulnerable lyrics, not to mention beautiful music. Thank you, Stephanie Lynn.

this one and The Chain are the truest songs ever written for me. the difference is that Chain is extremely angry, and this one has a deep, deep sadness both in music and lyrics. but it's still kind of... healing.
