At first glance it would seem that Fine Print Pariah (FPP) appeared out of nowhere onto the music scene, like a meteorite slipping unnoticed through the atmosphere before crashing into earth. But the fact is that FPP is the culmination of a patiently incubated idea - the brainchild of a musician who has been passionately honing his craft just below the radar for a long time.
Paul is known to many as a "singer/songwriter" - a label he has never been comfortable with - and FPP represents his need to break out of this mould and release the alternative rock that has been simmering inside him since the first moment he picked up an electric guitar. With pounding rhythms, driving guitar riffs and soaring vocals, the influences of classic and progressive rock are obvious but the music is firmly grounded in the present with a modern and sometimes experimental edge. Combined with poignant and poetic lyrics that defy the typical story-telling format of the singer/songwriter, the songs convey their messages in much the same way as an abstract painting, inspiring listeners to create their own plot lines
